Service of Process Agents, Inc.(SPA) has provided qualified attorneys as resident agents since 1979. SPA is one of the oldest firms that provides designation of agents for motor carriers. Under the rules of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, all motor carriers are required to appoint an agent in every state or jurisdiction to, from or through which they are authorized to operate. Designation of agents is one of the requirements which must be met before service is instituted under new or expanded authority.

Important Notice: While the attorney agent appointed by our service may be used for compliance with the uniform carrier registration system, neither SPA nor its agents hold out to accept service of process pursuant to designation requirements imposed by any state as part of state designation requirements for doing business in any particular jurisdiction. SPA clients are cautioned to obtain prior written approval from any of attorney agent for SPA before appointing him/her as an agent for service of process pursuant to state qualification statutes.

Broker Trust Fund Service Available

As a result of the insurance crisis, many property brokers have found difficulty in obtaining surety bonds from conventional insurers. Make no mistake, the only alternative to procuring a surety bond through a reputable insurance company is to post a $10,000 cash collateral with a trustee. Letters of credit, pledges of receivables, etc., with a financial institution will not do. See Ex Parte MC-5 Sub. 8, 1988 Fed. Carr. Cases 37,444.
