SSRS NOT EXTENDED INTO 2007; UCR COMING

Service of Process Agents, Inc. (SPA) has provided qualified attorneys as resident agents since 1979. SPA is one of the oldest firms that provides designation of agents for motor carriers. We are the leader in the transportation industry. We assist our clients in all areas of state and federal compliance. Service includes execution and filing of BOC-3 forms; information and referrals, as needed, on state registration, fuel permits, liability and cargo insurance, security bonds, and issuance of authorities to travel interstate and intrastate.

Unlike the majority of our competitors, all of our agents are practicing attorneys specializing in representing the transportation industry. If you need legal assistance in any state, our agents can help where others cannot.

Under the rules of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, all motor carriers are required to appoint an agent in every state or jurisdiction to, from or through which they are authorized to operate. Designation of agents is one of the requirements which must be met before service is instituted under new or expanded authority.

At SPA, we take pride in our service, and our 3,000 clients will agree that we are the best in this field. We have the answers to your questions! If you would like more information about SPA's services or you would like to enroll, complete the SPA Authorization Form or call us at 1-800-338-8883.

Broker Trust Fund Service Announced

As a result of the insurance crisis, many property brokers have found difficulty in obtaining surety bonds from conventional insurers. Make no mistake, the only alternative to procuring a surety bond through a reputable insurance company is to post a $10,000 cash collateral with a trustee. Letters of credit, pledges of receivables, etc., with a financial institution will not do. See Ex Parte MC-5 Sub. 8, 1988 Fed. Carr. Cases 37,444.

In conjunction with Potomac Bank of Virginia, we can post a Broker's Trust Fund Agreement on behalf of our clients which fully meets the requirements of form BMC-84. In return for your $10,000 certificate of deposit, you will earn interest which will pay your annual maintenance fee and you can be assured that your claims will be fairly and properly handled by skilled transportation professionals. Call us at 1-800-338-8883 for more information.
